Graduate Research and Internship Program in Germany
In the fall of 2017 the Stanford Club of Germany had the idea to start a program to bring graduate students to Germany and reached out to The Europe Center at Stanford to launch GRIP. The Graduate Research and Internship Program sponsors graduate internships and research visits with German companies and research institutes each summer. The Stanford Club of Germany provides funding for this program.
We think investing in people is invaluable. Thus, the objective of this program is to provide Stanford graduate students from all schools and departments the opportunity to gain international experience in their fields of interests. Students spend 8-12 weeks in Germany working in internships or conducting research in German industry, academia, and research institutions.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
* Students may identify their target institutions based on their curricular expertise and career goals; the program staff provides support in locating potential host sites and in negotiating arrangements.
* Applicants are encouraged to consider the full range of potential placement sites, from startups to established industry players and research institutions.
* Exact start and end dates to be determined by the host and student.
Grants of up to $9,000 will be awarded through The Europe Center at Stanford with each internship/research visit to cover the cost of travel and basic living expenses. Awardees will be required to submit a three-page report of their experience two weeks after their return.
